Bee's Hive
clover honey, wild daisies, green moss, damp earth
Hexagonal walls made of mud and straw house the busy colony of the honey bees. Day in and day out, the making of honey is performed with bustling precision. The workers forage for pollen and nectar, the queen reproduces in her chamber, and on a good day a forager returns to perform his honey bee dance. Life is short, but nothing is sweeter than the honey they produce and the flowers they pollinate.
Monk’s Library
cloister walls, ancient manuscripts, sacred chants, Arabian myrrh
The Monks live on a quiet hillside sanctuary where they are dedicated to prayer, song, and study without interruption. To those outside the cloister walls, these men are a mystery. But that suits them well. Bergamot, lemon, and mint cover the field just beyond the only window that gives light to the library. Handmade incense of lavender, geranium, sage, and clove fill the room. Rich cedar and balsam shelves house the collection of ancient books providing the perfect ambiance for pensive contemplation.
Ladies Cabin
field flowers, chopped logs, summer herbs, a flowing river
The ladies of the cabin all wear cotton dresses and collect wild flowers in pale purple mason jars. They braid each other’s hair as they sit on chunky logs covered in ladybugs and soft moss. Their secret forest hideaway made from dovetailed cedar, is loved for the fresh air, surrounding evergreens, honeysuckle, wild bluebells, and tall grass. The nearby lemon grove provides them with an endless supply of food, drink, and medicine. Here in this cabin, they have everything they need.
Artist’s Studio
jasmine tea, chocolate nibs, exotic oud, Egyptian musk, patchouli
The Artist spends most of her days in her studio, quiet and focused, only the notes of Erik Satie break the silence. She works with a myriad of materials, all selected for their intrinsic beauty. Nothing is taken for granted. Every detail is essential. Her space is a floriential experience, Roses and pink jasmine clustered in a Delft blue dutch vase sit next to a bowl of dark chocolate - a 2 o’clock necessity. Her large work table exudes scents of precious woods while thick cotton papers throw a musk into the air.
Forager’s Woods
wet dirt, forest florals, neroli, & earthy, woody sandalwood
Wandering upon moist, dark soil, the forager discovers a world of medicine, nourishment, and magic. The ambiance of tall redwoods, wet bark, exotic fern, and tiny forest floor florals, guide him along the way. A mushroom here, a berry there, an edible green to round out a meal. The process of finding, picking, walking, and breathing enlightens his heart and energizes his soul.
Cat’s Pillow
lavandin grosso, green herbs, tonka, rosemary, and ginger
Lounging by the fire, Amelita Galli-Curci does play. Catnip treats and a tasseled velvet pillow, you can hear her purr. Sweet kitty. Sweet kitty.
Bear's Cave
tangerine, vetiver, amber, frankincense, balsam
Some 24,000 years ago, deep in the forest edged terrain, a bear discovered his limestone cave. He made his bed in an amber gallery dripping with stalactites rich in minerals, lava and peat. The long, cold winters were always met with a peaceful, languid sleep. Each spring would commence the dawn with sweet tangerine blossoms and first warm rays of light.
Farmer’s Garden
cut grass, freshly turned soil, tiny flowers, herbaceous plantings
The farmer’s garden expands across acres of land with lush green beds full of varietal fruits, vegetables, and herbs. The air is laden with earthy notes from the nutrient rich soil, and watery notes from abundant plantings. In her mud-covered overalls and bright purple tube top, the farmer takes a bite from a tomato right off the vine. She delights in the glimmer dancing on wet blades of grass, and settles into the sun bathed haven of her very own bounty.
Fawn's Meadow
grapefruit, lavender, geranium, fir needle
The late afternoon is the time to graze. Young leaves, fresh grasses, and soft twigs abound. Trailing it's mother, a spotted fawn steps gently into the meadow. Blending with the autumn tones, she takes a bite from the nearest hanging branch. Chirping birds, dashing squirrels, and jumping grasshoppers share the scene. Walking and eating in the plein air has never been this good.
Rabbit's Hole
clary sage, ylang, cannabis, basil, fresh soil
Little grassy hole in the ground, where on earth do you lead? To a safe haven hidden from the predators, to an earthy, cozy place to sleep, or to meandering paths of existential realities? Choosing the path of individual freedom, the rabbit transcends, conformity. For existence precedes essence. And the hole is very deep.
