On a small farm in Washington County, Pennsylvania, Roxanne Hahn dreamt of making a living through her passion for plants and nature. It was through farming she discovered her passion for drying flowers, which would finally lead to the business of her dreams. For three years she grew, dried, and harvested her own flowers, selling them at local markets around the area. As her market customers grew and grew, she gained the confidence in her idea, and she launchedRoxanne's Dried Flowersin the historicalStrip District neighborhoodof Pittsburgh.
This September marks 20 Years ofRoxanne's Dried Flowers, so to kick off a year full of celebrations, we threw a backyard garden party complete with local wine, beer, garden inspired foods, handmade pottery and an accordion performance.
The backyard garden party featured a showcase of the latest works by our favorite local potter, Erich Hahn.
Local food stylist & writer Quelcy Kogel, of the blogWith The Grains, created the spread of garden-inspired small bites with fresh herbs and garnishes from Roxanne's garden.
